Are you feeling a deep, inner pull to understand life’s bigger mysteries? You’re not alone. The search for spiritual fitness is stronger than ever.

With more people asking questions like what is the meaning of life? Who are we? Why are we here? How can we live better quality lives as human beings?

Eventually, these types of questions lead to exploring spirituality for answers. Fortunately, we all have the ability to explore our spiritual nature.

But, most of us haven’t developed the capacity to understand our spiritual aspect. Yet, how do we navigate the spiritual path? Simple! We can learn to!

In this article, we will simply and briefly explore what spirituality is. We will discuss how to start having a conscious spiritual connection. Lastly, we will learn how to develop a healthy connection and build spiritual fitness.

The Importance Of Developing Spiritual Fitness

Mastering the art of living is an ongoing journey and there is always room for improvement. But, one highly under-acknowledged yet powerful way to enrich our lives is by developing awareness to our spiritual connection.

At its core, spiritual fitness is about sustaining a healthy sense of awareness to your spiritual aspect. For those of us who’ve ventured down this path, we will attest that it helps unlock inner power. This journey teaches us how to align our thoughts and emotions with our desires. It also guides us toward creating more opportunities for positive change.

While spirituality may seem intangible, developing this connection has real, observable benefits. It enhances overall well-being and can be integrated with other holistic practices to support personal growth and wellness.

Importantly, spiritual development isn’t confined to religious doctrine or dogma. Instead, it offers a universal way of understanding the world and our place within it.

By cultivating a conscious spiritual connection, we nurture an important aspect within ourselves. This practice also allows us to contribute positively to the world around us.

What Is Spirituality?

Spirituality is the process of going beyond the physical aspects of ourselves. It helps us find more profound meaning, inspiration, and purpose in life. This exploration serves as a pathway. It seeks solutions or answers that a solely human perspective doesn’t offer.

The journey begins by cultivating conscious awareness of our spiritual nature– our unseen connection to everything else. Often, this sense of nudging arises from a desire to reconnect to aspects of ourselves. These are parts that feel missing or are ready to be uncovered.

Spirituality is not a fixed destination but a continuous exploration. With each level, new layers of awareness and discovery unfold. This helps us reveal deeper insights into our existence.

What is a Spiritual Connection

A spiritual connection is the invisible thread that links all beings and aspects of existence.

For example, the link between your human mind and soul consciousness or simply the link between you and everything else. When we cultivate awareness of this connection, we become more conscious of our experience of it.

At times, we may unknowingly tap into our spiritual nature. This can happen when we feel deeply connected to the earth. It can also occur when we connect with other people or animals. Or when thinking of someone and they reach out to us.

Awareness to Spiritual Connection

Developing spiritual awareness helps us connect consciously with our inner, non-physical presence. It also allows us to connect with the essence of everything around us.

This awareness extends beyond religious practices. Though for some, attending services or engaging in faith-based traditions can serve as meaningful entry points.

Ultimately, spiritual awareness is about maximizing life’s potential, finding inspiration, and deepening our connections with others. It often stems from an inner drive for self-exploration, guiding us toward our true essence and core values.

Through this process, we gain insights into how to fully embody and live in alignment with them.

The Logic Behind Spiritual Fitness

Many of us struggle to accept our spiritual nature because it doesn’t make logical sense to us yet. I felt the same way until I started exploring the true nature of reality.

It all clicked when I looked closer—down to the level of atoms, the tiny building blocks of everything. Most adults already have a basic understanding of physics and chemistry. But, reviewing these topics with intention completely changed my woo woo understanding of spiritual connection.

Reality is Formed By Unseen Forces

Atoms are the building blocks of all matter. This includes everything we see, touch, and experience. They form the air we breathe, the ground we walk on, and even our own bodies. But here’s the surprising part: 99.9% of an atom is empty space.

But is it really empty? According to Quantum physics, not exactly. In fact, it states this space is full of invisible forces, energy fields, and tiny particles that hold everything together.

One of these forces, the electromagnetic force, pulls negatively charged electrons toward the positively charged nucleus. This keeps atoms stable. It allows them to bond to other atoms

The Spiritual Connection and Invisible Forces

This is where spiritual connection comes in. If reality is shaped by unseen forces, doesn’t that suggest we’re connected to something beyond visibility? Atoms, the foundation of all matter, show us that the unseen is just as real as what we can touch.

What if consciousness works the same way—existing beyond what we see, yet still deeply connected to everything?

Just as atoms are bound together by invisible forces, our spiritual nature is understood in a similar way. We are constantly immersed in and interacting with unseen energies that connect us to everything in the universe.

Our spiritual exploration involves tuning in to these invisible energies, linking us to everything. Tuning into these energies allows us to experience a profound sense of connection, beyond what’s physically visible.

This can happen through our intuition. It may also occur through meditation, deep awareness, or spiritual practices. In essence, the same invisible forces that form matter also explain the unseen threads of our spiritual connection.

How to Build Spiritual Fitness? Four Tips

As explained above, we are already spiritually connected. From a metaphysical standpoint, we are considered energetic beings having a temporary life experience in human form.

The human experience involves not being initially aware of the potential to develop conscious awareness to our true essence.

This means we need to grow spiritually as humans. To do this, we must learn to understand and become aware of our spiritual connection. This is what we need to develop consciously.

Fortunately, cultivating conscious awareness to our spiritual connection can be easier than we might think. Still, like mastering any art, it requires focus, practice, and consistency.

1. Start With A Human Frame Of Reference To Build Spiritual Fitness

First, it’s important to acknowledge our human identity because with it comes a human perspective. Before exploring metaphysical concepts, we should learn to understand our spiritual side from a viewpoint we can comprehend. This is our current human frame of reference.

As spiritually unaware human beings, our perspectives are limited. We see only what we understand to be real. We accept what we as a human collective believe to be true through observation and scientific theory.

With that in mind, beginners can try some helpful exercises. One exercise is to consider the vital connections we have with everything around us.

2. Make Grounded Connections To Build Spiritual Fitness

Start this process by grounding your spiritual quest. Think about the invisible connections between us. The ones we are all generally aware of on a universal scale.

For example, reviewing the vital relationship between humans and plants, which involves the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

This exchange is crucial for sustaining life. Despite this connection not being visible to our eyes, we have established as a collective that it exists.

3. Why It’s Important to Start With Grounded Spiritual Fitness Exercises

Using grounded exercises involves using evidence-backed, observable connections as examples.

When we approach spirituality from a simple, more practical angle, we use an approach our human aspect favors. This provides us with a solid foundation. It prepares us to understand more abstract concepts, like attraction and oneness.

If we start with more advanced spiritual concepts, it can quickly get convoluted. For some of us, cognitive discomfort can set in because we haven’t practiced more grounded exercises. These are beginner practices that help us develop the mental flexibility we need to hold space for more abstract occurrences.

By examining examples of non-visible connections with a concrete basis, we can eventually learn to explore more advanced-level spirituality. As a result, we start to develop a healthy level of discernment, helping us form our own intelligible truths.

We can then use our unique ideas to share with people at developing stages of spiritual awareness. This helps them understand how we’ve expanded our perspective.

Furthermore, the ability to connect intellectually with others can be a stepping stone. It can lead to connecting on multiple levels, including spiritually.

4. An Example Of a Grounded Spiritual Fitness Exercise

Maya embarks on a spiritual journey. She begins with a grounded beginner practice. These are logical examples with a concrete basis. This involves deepening her awareness of the connection between humans and the earth’s natural cycles.

As Maya reflects, her perspective broadens. She realizes that she has an active role in the process. Her actions can either support or disrupt the cycles. With this awareness, she begins to see the impact of even small choices. She notices how they can significantly affect the world around her.

Additionally, she realizes that disrupting natural cycles can, in turn, affect her own well-being. As she continues her practice, she becomes increasingly aware of the ripple effect. She understands how one action sets off a chain reaction. She also recognizes the boomerang effect, where energy and consequences eventually return to their source.

This growing awareness leads her to a deeper understanding of interconnectedness. She begins to reevaluate her choices and whether they align with the greater good.

Ultimately, she ties this revelation to the metaphysical concepts of oneness and attraction. Realizing that everything is intricately connected.

Spiritual Awareness Is Not A One Approach Fits all

There is no one path to developing awareness to your spiritual connection. It’s a personal journey that will look different for everyone. For example, many people find a connection through faith-based practices, meditation, yoga, prayer, or acts of service.

Some individuals may even experience their spiritual connection through certain relationship experiences they’ve had, good and bad.

Others explore nature-based practices, like gardening or hiking, which also help us connect to the world around us.

Consciously practicing spirituality starts with becoming aware of the deep connections we have to ‘other’.

The Dark Side Of A Spiritual Connection

Unfortunately, being spiritually connected also opens us up to more nefarious experiences, like energetic attacks. This is a type of toxic spirituality that can be intentionally or subconsciously practiced, yikes!

Fortunately, our level of spiritual fitness can guide us through these challenges. It helps in avoiding the severity of negative influences. Additionally, it aids in extracting the value they serve.

Regardless of what stimulates our spiritual awareness, ultimately, it cultivates more opportunities to have expansive life experiences.
